We started the today off with a 4 mile run then off on the bikes for the 2nd biggest climb of the trip (Mt Hood was the biggest) BUT we are not fresh and both of us quite tired. There were two main sections to todays ride the first 30 miles then the second 30 which was the climb. For myself the climb was a real mental challenge at this point in our tour. Although the entire climb took no more than 3.65 hours the slow pace and falling temperatures really took a toll on me. By the time we got to the rim of the crater I was totally mentally shot, unwilling even to go the 50 feet to see the lake. Luckily Sandra dragged me out of my coma and up to the rim! The lake is stunning absolutely stunning and with any luck tomorrow I'll get a shot or two of it!
