After several years of thinking an talking about this trip we are off! The first "pre-game" day was a short 30 mile jaunt from where we were staying to our launching off point just east of Portland. Tomorrow the official start of our ride we have a 65 mile bike ahead of us, which in any normal day would be super easy, but with these bikes loaded down it will be quite difficult. Also we are not so sure about how we will fare making all the climbs ahead on these bikes. Only time will tell. Tomorrow we launch off at 7am for what could be a 10 hour day.
